Of course, as we’ve seen before on this list, Austin was no stranger to being arrested himself, and here in top spot we have a second example of his night being curtailed on account of the long arm of the law.

The incident arrived when Austin attacked Owen Hart after a match on Raw, thus violating a restraining order that Owen had been prudent to have put in place. That in itself would have been enough to land Austin in hot water, but in an attempt to avoid the situation turning nasty, Vince McMahon would try to talk some sense into the Rattlesnake.

As you can imagine, it didn’t end well.

Austin soon shut Vince up by hitting the boss with a Stone Cold Stunner, an image that we’d soon be seeing rather more often as we ushered in one of the greatest periods in wrestling history. The crowd went nuts, Austin was cuffed and the seeds for the Attitude Era were well and truly sown.

Austin vs. McMahon is rightfully one of the most celebrated feuds of all time, and this arrest was effectively the beginning of that iconic rivalry.
