By the Summer of 1992, the World Wrestling Federation were struggling to maintain a previously iron-clad grip on their audience. The solution was thought to be introducing even more colourful characters, such as the evil witch doctor Papa Shango. A feud between Shango and The Ultimate Warrior was thought to be just the ticket.

On an episode of Superstars in June of that year, Papa Shango emerged to tamper with Warrior's health. Convulsing violently, he was said to be attempting to put a spell on his opponent by the announcers. As Vince McMahon wondered alongside viewers what was going on, Warrior suddenly collapsed dramatically from the ring apron.

The acting level was far from convincing, especially when scenes were shown backstage of Warrior stretched out in agony. As various WWF officials and paramedics attempted to pin him down (instead of working to find a cure), the wrestler suddenly spewed some green goo all over the place.

Coming across like a bad outtake from a B movie, the segment didn't really end up going anywhere. Warrior's performance was undoubtedly cheesy, and wrestling fans must have blushed as it played out in front of them.
