10 Dream Goldberg Matches In WWE (And How To Book Them)

3. John Cena

A clash of one of WCW's biggest stars vs WWE's, John Cena vs Bill Goldberg is another marquee match that most fans would have already given up on ever happening.

Physically of similar stature, Cena would fancy matching Goldberg's strength, and Goldberg would have to combat Cena's 'never give up' persona by force of will. From a storyline perspective, both could sink their teeth into what it means to be a true hero in the modern age.

Decked out as they are in his colourful garb, Cena has now galvanised generations of children into following his 'Hustle, Loyalty, Respect' ethos over a remarkable 10+ years at the very top of the WWE mountain. But since returning in October, Goldberg has unashamedly donned a superhero's cape too, and seems to have resonated with older members of the crowd as much as the younger ones.

In-ring, Cena has been tremendous and sympathetic taking beatings from Brock Lesnar in victory and defeat, so it could be presented believably as an epic heavyweight clash or an extended squash were he to square up to Goldberg.

Ultimately, simply proving themselves better than one another, age and generational differences aside, would become the motivation for victory and set the scene for an old fashioned heavyweight battle of the titans.
