10 Dream Wrestling Matches (That We Really Needed To Happen This Decade)
1. Sting Vs. The Undertaker
Two unique personas, The Undertaker and Sting dominated WWE and WCW respectively throughout wrestling's greatest era, and left so many of us hoping that we would one day see them cross paths. The dream match to end all dream matches, this is one that wrestling fans have been wanting to see for many decades, but it only became a legitimate possibility during this one. Yes, 'The Icon' finally showed up on WWE TV in 2014 and, for a moment, it seemed like we would finally see these two parallel forces collide.
Sure, both men may have been somewhat past their prime, but let's not forget that Sting looked to be in great shape at the time while 'Taker's almost decade-long streak (no, not that one) of phenomenal WrestleMania matches had just come to an end earlier that year (with his actual Streak-ending dud against Brock Lesnar). Moreover, the former soon wrestled Triple H in a decent offering while 'The Deadman' would go on to have two cracking matches against Lesnar later that year.
It may have been at least half a decade too late, but for a brief moment, the stars aligned and both men ended up under the same roof at WrestleMania 31. Yet bafflingly, the creative team booked them in two different storylines.
The likelihood of the match has decreased significantly since then, as Sting's injury later that year and the subsequent decline in quality of The Undertaker's matches over the past few years have left us all wondering if it's best that it remains a fantasy.
