10 Dream Wrestling Matches (That We Really Needed To Happen This Decade)

3. Seth Rollins Vs. Shawn Michaels

Way back before Shawn Michaels went back on his word and came out of retirement for that not-so-fondly remembered tag team match against the Brothers of Destruction, fans had been hoping to see HBK do just that for a much more enticing offering - and one of the most sought-after options was a potential match against 'The Architect' Seth Rollins.

Rollins has been described as a modern-day Shawn Michaels so many times now that it's almost become a cliché to say it, but that doesn't make it any less true. The former Universal Champion has enjoyed an incredibly successful career over the past decade, and his in-ring talent has set him apart from almost everyone else. With that in mind, it's easy to see why so much of the WWE Universe has been eager to see the pair clash.

In fact, there was one point where it looked like it might even happen, as Michaels ended up confronting the heel champion back in 2015 during his rivalry with Kane - utilising his expertise on Hell In A Cell matches involving the 'Big Red Machine' to warn Seth what he was getting into. Unfortunately, that was the extent of his involvement.

Rollins has been very clear about how much he wants this dream match to happen, but it's been over a year since HBK's admittedly decent return to the ring (in an otherwise bad match) and there hasn't been any talk of it yet. The window of opportunity shrinks with each passing year, so it's a real shame that Michaels didn't choose to come out of retirement for Rollins instead of that lacklustre tag team match.
