Cameras cut to frightened children in the crowd from late-1990 onwards. Mercifully, the WWF stopped short of showing some poor tot bawling their eyes out as The Undertaker slowly meandered to the ring like a zombie mortician who revelled in the fear. There was a lot of trepidation and fidgeting though!

'Taker looked like being heel for the entire duration of his run, then 1992 happened. That year, 'The Deadman' stopped Jake Roberts from hitting Miss. Elizabeth with a steel chair and turning babyface for the first time. Fans might've been on the fence about all of this, but it clicked and 'Taker didn't turn bad again until 1998.

Yes, he enjoyed an unforeseen six year run as a mysterious hero.

Pops grew louder and louder for Undertaker's entrances and match-winning tombstones. By mid-1993, he was one of the biggest faces in the promotion, and his popularity only increased once 'Taker began morphing the character into something new. Anyone eye-rolling when he stopped Jake would be proven wrong.
