Shane McMahon pinning Cesaro? With a Shooting Star Press? To win the SmackDown Tag Team Championships? Yes, it was something that so many wrestling fans found nauseating, but it very much did indeed happen.

What's interesting, though, is that 2019 was the first - and currently only - time that Shane McMahon actually competed at the Royal Rumble PPV.

Sure, Shane O'Mac spent several years away from the company, yet he also spent so many years as a major part of WWE programming since he first reared his head during the Attitude Era. Considering this is someone who has six WrestleMania matches under his belt - including one against the f**king Undertaker! - it's a little surprising to realise that Shane had't ever competed at the Royal Rumble until 2019.

McMahon actually does have some previous at the Royal Rumble, with him serving as a referee for the 1991 Rumble match and screwing over Shawn Michaels in 2006, yet 2019 was the first time that Shane was a formal competitor in a contest.

Later that year, Shane McMahon would go onto appear at Saudi Arabia's Greatest Royal Rumble event, where he would be an entrant in the show's actual Royal Rumble match.
