Currently smashing it as one of the focal points of Lucha Underground, Ivelisse Vélez has come a long way since she was released from her WWE contract in 2012.
She was a contestant on the fifth season of Tough Enough and appeared for both FCW and NXT in its early days. However, it was when she left the company and worked on the independent scene that she truly came into her own.
Working a hybrid style, combining her MMA background with her athleticism, she's been a perfect fit in the wacky world of Lucha Underground and her trios title run with Son of Havoc and Angelico will live long in the memory.
Her martial arts influence would make her the perfect foil for Asuka in NXT and she's certainly earned a second shot in the WWE system. The only concern would be her injury woes, with her having suffered two legitimate foot injuries during her time with Lucha Underground.
