10 Forgotten Classics From The Undertaker's WWE Career

The Great Khali may not be the world's greatest wrestling technician but at the beginning of his WWE career, the creative team cared enough to weave some damn good storytelling into his matches and that - accompanied by a couple of solid spots - was more than enough to sell this monster. That's where The Undertaker comes in.

The pair's Last Man Standing match on SmackDown served as the culmination of their summer feud, as 'The Deadman' finally summoned enough power to stand toe-to-toe with the dominant giant. That was essentially the whole storyline in a nutshell, which is why it was imperative that their final confrontation be a microcosm of that. Thankfully, that's exactly what it turned out to be.

Far from a wrestling masterpiece, this was the barbaric brawl the WWE Universe had been waiting to see from these two behemoths for months. A slow-burn that altered its pace accordingly whenever 'Taker took charge, it allowed us all to believe that he was finally going to topple the monster. Throw in some Attitude Era-esque arena fighting, a truck-load of violence and a highly-impressive Chokeslam, and you have a classic fight on your hands - and the audience's response highlights just how well they managed to tell this story.

'Taker has made a career out of making his opponents look good (even in defeat) and in 2006, he was hitting the prime of his career. Those two things together, along with the well-told story, were enough to ensure that this Last Man Standing match exceeded expectations. And it remains the Great Khali's most entertaining match.
