10 Forgotten WWE Main Events Everyone Needs To See
6. Dean Ambrose vs. Triple H (Roadblock 2016)
Holy smokes, it's AEW's Jon Moxley, and he's in there with WWE bigwig Triple H on an in-betweeny event nestled betwixt 2016's Fastlane and WrestleMania 32. More to the point, the then-Dean Ambrose hadn't yet been sullied by wholly unnecessary comedy that made him less Mox and more walking punchline.
A crap punchline at that.
At Roadblock (the first of two pay-per-views called that in the same year), Ambrose was on a mission to prove he could hang with the biggest of the big boys. What resulted was a main event that was twice the match Trips' upcoming 'Mania bout with Roman Reigns could ever hope to be, and one that earned Deano's stripes as a credible, permanent headline force in the post-Shield era.
If you slept on this event at the time or haven't bothered to check it out in the three years since, you're missing out. This was a fired up Ambrose, not yet depressed by a Brock Lesnar mauling to come, up against a Triple H motivated to prove he was still 'The Game'.
