10 Forgotten WWE Main Events Everyone Needs To See

To some older fans, the match this pair worked at Super ShowDown recently had beats of yesteryear that would've been enjoyable. To younger viewers, it's worth putting that to one side and trawling back through the archives. Triple H and Randy Orton, many moons ago, were bloody dynamite together.

This was their first pay-per-view main event.

Born out of the ashes of Evolution betrayal, it is rather odd to see natural heel Orton assume the babyface role against his ex-leader. Still, fans were willing to try Randy on for size, and that had to please WWE; the company were previously screaming for new stars like Orton, John Cena and Batista to step up now that Brock Lesnar had departed.

At Unforgiven '04, Orton showed he was ready, willing and able to become a household name for the next decade or so. Special mention must go to the persistent interference from Batista, Ric Flair and Jonathan Coachman (of all people), as well as some agonising near falls. That all added to the spectacle.
