10 Fun Facts About My Trip To WWE WrestleMania XXVI

6. Hall Of Fame Snore

The WWE Hall of Fame is always one of my favourite nights of the year. As we got to the ceremony in Phoenix, things started off well. Our seats in the upper section had been removed to be used for audio and video areas by WWE, so we were upgraded to floor seats, which we weren't gonna complain about. We tucked ourselves in and looked forward to watching all the inductees. Mad Dog Vachon got inducted but sadly rambled his way through his speech just saying "Mad Dog's the name, fighting's the game" over and over again. Pat Patterson had to take the mic to start wrapping him up. Wendi Richter came out looking like Ric Flair in drag and in what could've been a great speech with her talking about the 1985 screwjob controversy, she instead just gave a pedestrian five minute speech. Antonio Inoki was inducted but since he doesn't speak a lick of English he just gave his full speech in Japanese as we sat there, happy for how enthusiastic he was but with no clue what was going on. Bret Hart and the Hart Family inducted Stu, which was nice and fans got a big kick out of seeing Bret, before Ted DiBiase was introduced as the headline inductee. The Million Dollar Man was a great character but he just felt like a semi-main event headliner and as we left the show, it was just a little underwhelming but, hey, if we learned anything - Mad Dog's the name, fighting's the game.
