10 Fun Facts From My Trip To WWE WrestleMania 32
1. The Road Trip
After spending a week talking about wrestling, watching shows, podcasting, interviewing, and having my whole world consumed by it, I was pretty happy to go on a one week road trip that didn't involve wrestling at all. I kicked it off by going to Austin, Texas with my buddy. We flew there and the entire flight had horrible turbulence. It doesn't matter how many time a flight attendant tells you everything will be fine, you still fear your impending death!
Austin was a hipster town that had great barbeque, a fun night life, and colourful characters. Sadly, we were staying at a place resembling Bates Motel. Luckily we escaped alive, even if every shower was met with dread at the prospect of a wig and a knife coming at me.
LA and Vegas were up next, and after two nights of drinking American measures of Vodka, I think I'm officially an alcoholic. In LA people seem to be beautiful or hideous. Being an in-betweener like myself was unnerving. My friend Sanne (She's from Belgium, don't judge the name) hadn't been to Vegas, and when I informed her we were staying at Hooters Hotel, she rolled her eyes. However, in the end, she found a soft spot for the gaudiness of it all.
Finally, we visited Arizona which included avoiding gun crime in Phoenix and a trip to the Grand Canyon. Of all the places I've ever been, the Canyon is the most breathtaking. It's bucket list stuff. I even conquered my fear of heights and sat on the edge. PROGRESS!
An amazing trip, an average WrestleMania, tons of memories, and getting slagged off by Paul Heyman. This one will be hard to top.
See you soon, Orlando....
