10 Great Wrestling Performances (That Nobody Ever Talks About)
2. Bray Wyatt - With Roman Reigns Vs League Of Nations (Raw 2016)
Whisper it, but once upon a time, Bray Wyatt had the whole world in his hands...
Then WWE decided to have him dress up as Sister Abigail and eventually become a demon clown who talks to hand puppets. Before the fireflies hit the fan, however, Wyatt appeared to be on the cusp of something quite special once WrestleMania 32 was in the rear-view mirror.
Teaming with new WWE Champion Roman Reigns to fend off the laughing stock villains that were The League of Nations a few weeks removed from The Show of Shows, Wyatt seemed like a man transformed. Drinking in the adulation from the crowd as an apparent face, the Eater of Worlds stormed around the ring, blasting anything that moved and orchestrating those in attendance like a star who'd been the company’s leading light for years.
This crowd-popping performance, capped off with a sweetly timed gun gesture as Reigns nailed Sheamus with a spear, was sadly a bittersweet event in the end though. Wyatt would get hurt not long after, and when he finally returned, this babyface direction was swiftly forgotten about in favour of his stale heel cult leader schtick.
