One of the more well-regarded storylines of the mid-2000s was Chris Jericho's partnership-turned-feud with Christian. The two Canadians took interest in Lita and Trish Stratus, then made a bet to see who could "seal the deal" first. Jericho soon developed real feelings for Stratus and wanted to call the bet off, putting him at odds with his onetime partner.

The men fought at WrestleMania XX, but Christian picked up the win when Stratus turned on Jericho and joined forces with "Captain Charisma". That left a heartbroken Jericho at war, and even when he beat Christian and Stratus in a handicap match at Backlash, the feud wasn't over.

They had one last bout - a steel cage match - on Raw, one which would settle things once and for all. Stratus and Christian's other cohort, Tyson Tomko, tried to interfere, but Jericho wouldn't be denied. As Trish got involved, Christian tried to escape, but Jericho brought him back to the mat with a brutal spinebuster that capped off an outstanding contest.

He then locked in the Walls of Jericho, forcing his former friend to tap out.
