Chris Benoit won the World Heavyweight Championship at WrestleMania XX, much to the chagrin of former champion Triple H. Even worse for "The Game", no matter how hard he tried, he couldn't take the belt back from him. Benoit was victorious in a WrestleMania rematch with HHH and Shawn Michaels at Backlash, then beat "The Game" in a singles bout at Vengeance.

Triple H's last chance came in an Iron Man match on Raw - 60 minutes that would decide who would reign as champion. Like the Lesnar-Angle match from Smackdown less than a year before, it was a stunning encounter that told a great story from start to finish.

The bout started off slow, but Benoit picked up the first fall when he turned a Crippler Crossface reversal into a roll-up. For nearly 30 minutes, that was the only decision, but HHH finally scored a pinfall of his own with the Pedigree. Triple H scored two subsequent decisions (the first via countout, the second with a pin after a spinebuster), seemingly sewing up victory, but Benoit scored two submissions, first with a Sharpshooter, then with the Crossface.

Finally, a chairshot put "The Game" down, and Benoit scored one final pinfall with six seconds left on the clock.
