Armageddon 2006 was a mixed bag of a show. It was a pay-per-view headlined by a tag team match, as John Cena and Batista took on King Booker and Finlay. The Undertaker defeated Mr. Kennedy in a Last Ride Match, and Kane beat MVP in an Inferno Match. It was also the show were Joey Mercury's face stopped working quite as well, thanks to a ladder.

After The Boogeyman beats The Miz in a match you should never, ever watch, Chris Benoit and Chavo Guerrero go at it with the United States Championship on the line. The whole Vickie Guerrero aspect of the story is difficult to watch now, but there we go.

Chavo Guerrero was never truly supported as a singles star outside of the Cruiserweight Division, but he showed in this match that he was more than capable of performing with the heavyweights. Benoit is as intense as one would expect too, and he was a perfect fit as United States Champion.

The truth is, Benoit and Chavo could probably have had a three star match in their sleep. This one is a notch above that, as Benoit makes Chavo tap out in the Sharpshooter.

Now living in Prague, John spends most of his time trying to work out how Tomohiro Ishii still stands upright. His favourite wrestler of all time is Dean Malenko, but really it is Repo Man.
