10 Greatest Returns In WWE SummerSlam History

3. Daniel Bryan

In just one night, The Nexus managed to shake WWE to its very core with their preempted attack on the June 7, 2010 edition of Raw. Unfortunately for them, though, one of their most elite members Daniel Bryan was legitimately fired from the company a mere five days later due to his non-PG actions during the beatdown. While The Nexus achieved success without him, it wasn't the same. Bryan could have brought an all-new element to the group, considering he was a much better worker than every other NXT Season 1 alum. Following his departure, chants for The American Dragon could be heard at Raw and other WWE events from fans clamouring for him to be re-signed. Little did they know, they would get their wish at SummerSlam 2010. John Cena put together a faction strong enough to rival The Nexus in a seven-on-seven elimination match, but he was down one man. The Miz announced himself as the final member of the team earlier in the evening, but Cena said he was too late before bringing out the returning Daniel Bryan. Bryan had a strong showing against his former Nexus cohorts, sticking around for a majority of the matchup up until his elimination at the hands of Wade Barrett. Interestingly enough, Bryan would do battle with both Cena and Barrett inside the Staples Center in the years that followed.
