10 Greatest WWE Feuds Of The 90's
10. Bret Hart vs. Jerry "The King" Lawler

If Bret "Hitman" Hart was the unquestioned hero of World Wrestling Entertainment during the early-to-mid 1990s, Jerry Lawler was his greatest foe; a loud, obnoxious villain who was quick to insult Stu and Helen Hart if it meant gaining a mental edge over the former WWE champion. When Bret won the King of the Ring tournament in June 1993, Lawler became obsessed with proving to the world just who the real king of wrestling is. Over the course of four years, the legendary star out of Memphis did everything in his power to not only beat Hart, not only humiliate him but put him out of the business entirely. He recruited other stars to his dirty work for him but no matter what he tried, he was unsuccessful in his quest.
Hart always managed to have an answer for every devious, underhanded act that Lawler committed. At the King of the Ring pay-per-view in June 1995, the rivalry reached its climax when the Hitman defeated the King in a Kiss My Foot match. Leaving the part-time commentator disgraced and choking on his own filthy foot, Hart had clearly gotten the best of his rival once and for all, regardless of whether or not Lawler saw it the same way. The feud would be revisited numerous times throughout the year, ending in 1997 when Hart turned heel and Lawler inexplicably began seeing things his way.
