10 Greatest WWE Feuds Of The 90's

9. Randy Savage vs. Ric Flair

The debut of Ric Flair in Vince McMahon's WWE opened up the possibility of several dream matches fans could only imagine one day witnessing.

One of those matches was Ric Flair vs. Randy Savage and, thanks to last-minute booking changes, that contest would be delivered on the biggest stage known to sports-entertainment. At WrestleMania VIII, Flair would defend his WWE Championship against Savage in one of the most emotionally charged bouts in the event's long and illustrious history. Flair crossed a boundary with Savage that was sure to infuriate and enrage the Macho Man, making him that much more unstable and uncontrollable as he arrived to Indianapolis' Hoosier Dome for one-half of the night's double main event.

Promises by Flair to expose huge banners featuring explicit photos of Savage's wife Miss Elizabeth ignited an anger and rage inside of the Macho Man that caused him to explode. Savage bloodied Flair and used his own dirty tricks against him to capture the WWE title. The Nature Boy disputed the victory and continued to feud with the new champion. In September of 1992, Flair regained the title from Savage, thanks to assistance from the debuting Razor Ramon. The program between the two all-time greats would culminate in November with a huge tag team match at the Survivor Series, a match in which Savage and partner Mr. Perfect defeated Flair and Ramon by disqualification.
