Mick Foley's 'retirement' match would have meant more had he never returned to the ring, but what are wrestling retirements anyway? His subsequent feuds with Randy Orton and Edge served grand purposes, but nonetheless, imagine if Mick had gone out after this match with Triple H. What a way to go, no?

Functionally, the match combines Foley and Helmsley's street fight from the previous month's Royal Rumble, and a legendary Foley performance that will be visited later in this list (you know the one). The bump Foley takes through the cage and through the ring doesn't seem to get the appreciation that a risky fall like that deserves, but it's nonetheless an incredibly-violent end to one of the better pure feuds from The Attitude Era. It's one where the hero didn't triumph.
