10 Greatest WWE Sellers Of All Time
2. The Rock
There is no one - and this writer means NO ONE - that can take a Stone Cold Stunner like The Rock. Watching him on the receiving end of that move was a consistent highlight throughout the Attitude Era, particularly when The Rock was the heel. There was just something so satisfying about watching him flop around the mat like an electrocuted sea bass.
It's almost as if someone froze time just as Austin wrapped his arm around his neck, rushed into the ring, removed all of The Rock's bones, and then unfroze time to give us all the greatest gift imaginable.
To be basically the second top guy in the company, and sell that hard to the top banana speaks volumes about The Rock's character, too.
And obviously The Rock's selling capabilities went far beyond his matches with Stone Cold - in fact, no one reacted to a basic punch to the face with wide-eyed exasperation quite like him - but that Stunner flop called attention to the fact that The Great One's prowess as a WWE superstar didn't rely solely on a cheesy finishing move and fantastic mic work.
To that extent, it's worth it to go back and watch any match where The Rock is put in a submission hold for more than a few seconds. His facial expressions are bonkers, but still believable within the context.
