If WWE want to do their usual Champion Vs Champion (Vs Champion) match at Survivor Series, it's getting time to finally take Raw's top strap off of Drew McIntyre. But does that mean Clash Of Champions is the right time and place? And moreover, is Randy Orton the right opponent?

Yes and no, to both.

'The Scottish Psychopath' and Universal Champion Roman Reigns have a potentially mammoth meeting down the road at some point, but November's pay-per-view seems a premature place to highlight just how far McIntyre has come since their passable outing at WrestleMania 35. But it's not as simple as just doing a switch here. As the heroic leader of Raw, McIntyre should probably vanquish 'The Apex Predator' even if he's set to lose sometime soon. Not least when an Ambulance Match saves Orton having to take a decisive pin.

The very same logic could be applied McIntyre relinquishing it here too. WWE love avoiding "giving away" pinfalls. This could be the way to do it, but Orton - as usual - just doesn't feel like the best man to hold gold.

Winner - Drew McIntyre
