10 Hypothetical WWE Signings (And Whether They'd Have Succeeded Or Failed)

4. Bobby Roode

For the better part of a decade, Bobby Roode has been one of the best wrestlers in TNA. He has demonstrated amazing gimmick work, strong wrestling skills, and has been an excellent heel character for years. He has a natural charisma and air of distaste that makes him easy to hate, which is something that’s sorely lacking in WWE.

Success or Failure in WWE: Success

There’s this saying in wrestling that for a wrestler to be successful, they have to have ‘it’. Whatever ‘it’ is, Bobby Roode has it. He has a certain magnetism about him that makes people watch his every move and hang on his every word.

Given that natural talent (and his ‘WWE-approved’ image), there’s no doubt that he would’ve been successful in WWE.

Had he ever signed with WWE, he would’ve found success in any role. If he were to work in the tag team division, he’d emulate his success as part of Beer Money, Inc. If he were to work as a singles wrestler, there’s no doubt that he would’ve, at the very least, flirted with the main event on a regular basis.

Would he have reached the World Title? Possibly, if WWE would be willing to let an ‘outsider’ embrace a full-fledged arrogant heel gimmick in the same vein as Randy Orton or Mr. Kennedy. Over the last few years, Roode has demonstrated that he can carry an entire promotion on his back as World Champion, and that experience could translate into similar success in WWE.
