10 Infamous Shoot Moments When WWE Got Real

7. Eddie Guerrero Vs. A Fan

No such case of mistaken identity here; it was blatantly obvious which fan was at fault during a ladder match between Eddie Guerrero and Rob Van Dam, because the fan in question had somehow managed to enter the ring before the entire world.

In an incredibly rare moment, a member of the audience had stormed the ring, before pushing over the very ladder that Eddie was halfway through climbing.

Presumably this was as real as it gets; a very pregnant pause from Jim Ross on commentary suggested that nobody really knew what was going on, plus it was a bit of a bonehead move since it could have caused Eddie a serious injury.

In fact, this was stupid for two reasons. Not only could it have injured Eddie, but it seriously ticked him off. Naturally the fan paid the price, being bundled out of the ring by security with Eddie laying in some deserving parting jabs.

There’s a lesson to be learned here, whether in the scripted realm of pro wrestling or outside of it in the real world: if you push someone off a ladder, don’t expect it to be taken too well.
