10 John Cena Matches We Still Need To See

2. Vs. Samoa Joe

The history between John Cena and the former NXT Champion is fairly well documented at this point. Samoa Joe and Cena were both signed to WWE developmental Ultimate Pro Wrestling way back in 2000, feuding together as they waited for the call to the main roster. That call came for Cena a few years later, but the closest Joe got was a losing effort against Essa Rios on WWF Jakked.

Whilst in UPW Jim Ross told Joe that he wouldn't have a future in professional wrestling, and boy was Jim Ross wrong. Joe would go on to become one of the first breakout stars of the post-Monday Night Wars wrestling world, and whilst he rotted away in TNA for a while he has returned to the Joe of old over the last nine months or so.

Cena/Joe would be a great match purely for the assumedly excellent video packages WWE would put together to hype the match, but the match itself would also be big enough to headline any show.

Born in the middle of Wales in the middle of the 1980's, John can't quite remember when he started watching wrestling but he has a terrible feeling that Dino Bravo was involved. Now living in Prague, John spends most of his time trying to work out how Tomohiro Ishii still stands upright. His favourite wrestler of all time is Dean Malenko, but really it is Repo Man. He is the author of 'An Illustrated History of Slavic Misery', the best book about the Slavic people that you haven't yet read. You can get that and others from www.poshlostbooks.com.
