10 Lamest WWE Returns

4. Kane (Raw - 16 October 2017)

The problem with bringing Kane back as a monster is that the guy has felt as threatening as a big red lollipop for well over a decade. Years of wearing Dockers as an authority goon, working concessions, electrocuting Shane McMahon's balls, dancing for Santino Marella, and other crimes have long since destroyed his intimidation factor, rendering him useless when presented as an imposing heel.

Reviving Team Hell No for cathartic pops in 2018? Fine. Bringing Mayor Glenn Jacobs in for goofy 24/7 Championship shenanigans? Cool. Reuniting the Brothers of Destruction to face D-Generation X in Saudi Arabia? At least it fit the theme of those shows.

This bullsh*t, however? No. No, no, no. Nope.

Similar to James Ellsworth's 2018 return in that it needlessly dented a previously hot wrestler's aura, Kane's escapades with Braun Strowman stunk. Raw saw him emerge from under the ring to assault Roman Reigns in a steel cage match with 'The Monster Amongst Men.' Finn Balor was needlessly squashed by Kane soon after, leading into a feud with Strowman that somehow led to Mayor Glenn buying a Universal Title Triple Threat at Royal Rumble 2018, having long since stunk up the joint.
