10 Least Over Wrestlers To Ever Headline WWE WrestleMania

3. Roman Reigns (WrestleMania 31, 32, 33 and 34)

Last year, Roman Reigns rocked the house in a WrestleMania headliner. He's likely to do the same this year and is arguably the biggest star in the industry.

Unfortunately for 'The Head of the Table', the sailing wasn't always so smooth. Handpicked by Vince McMahon as the next face of WWE, Reigns was blindsided by the audience's loud love for Daniel Bryan in 2015. His Royal Rumble win that year was booed into oblivion. Even The Rock, one of the most beloved, top drawing headliners ever, caught audience flak for his involvement.

Things only got messier from there as the young Reigns struggled on the mic and was hampered by a messy, awkward build to his showdown with then-WWE Champion Brock Lesnar. Getting booed out of the building became the norm for Reigns in the years after as he engaged in lacklustre 'Mania main events with Triple H, The Undertaker and Lesnar again.

Many blamed Reigns' persona. Unlike Rollins and Ambrose, Reigns failed to reinvent himself after The Shield split, retaining the SWAT gear and entrance theme where the other two found new styles and identities. Others blamed his being pushed over more organic fan favourites for the crowd hatred.

To the surprise of no one, all it took to fix Reigns' conundrum was a heel turn and letting the man himself have some input in his character. As a psychopathic super heel, 'The Big Dog' is the star VKM wanted, it's just a pity it took so long to get there.
