10 Live Observations From EVOLVE 61

1. WWE Versus TNA

After EC3 ran in on the main event, he and Galloway beat Gargano down. With their foe subdued, Carter took the microphone and began "shooting" on WWE. He spoke about how he and Galloway were overlooked by the company, but they didn't blow it, the "King of Kings" did. He threatened to urinate, then defecate in the ring, and then spoke about how he and Galloway made their own path in wrestling.

Carter was interrupted by a number of stars throughout his promo - including The Devastation Corporation, Earl Cooter and Larry Dallas, Drew Gulak, and TJP - but he and Galloway managed to fight them off. It was only when Ethan Page ran in with a chair that the TNA representatives were run off.

After that, the two sides continued to shout at each other, with the result being the announcement of a tag team match pitting EC3 and Galloway against Gargano and TJP. The two tandems will collide at EVOLVE's next show in Ybor City.

Even though this feud is designed to look like independent wrestling versus corporate wrestling, the subtext is clear - EVOLVE is booking a WWE versus TNA feud. Two of TNA's top stars are taking on a WWE contracted talent and a wrestler who's competing in the Cruiserweight Classic, and it's very, very interesting. Reports that EVOLVE was getting rid of all the talent in whom WWE wasn't interested were clearly unfounded, and pro wrestling gets crazier every day.
