10 Live Observations From Attending EVOLVE Wrestling Over WrestleMania Weekend
8. Catch Point Is Most Underrated Stable On The Indies
The weekend was especially good to Catch Point, EVOLVE's four-man stable built on a shared discipline of submission wrestling. While they don't typically get a lot of press, Drew Gulak, Tracy Williams, Matt Riddle, and TJ Perkins deserve all the success they've gotten and more.
Gulak and Williams defeated Chris Hero and Tommy End in the main event of the Friday show, then rode that wave of momentum into a Tag Team Championship match with Galloway and Gargano on Saturday. At the second show, Williams forced Gargano to submit, claiming the titles in what some may have considered an upset.
Speaking of upsets, Perkins scored a huge win when he submitted Ricochet on Friday. The former TNA star followed up on the victory by introducing Stokely Hathaway as his new manager, rechristening himself TJP, and expressing his interest in entering WWE's Global Cruiserweight Series.
As for Riddle, I'll get to him in a bit.
