10 Long-Term WWE Pay Offs You Should Be Excited For

1. Bad E

The New Day
WWE

This list began with a yarn spun to return Kofi Kingston to the promised land and right a great wrong done unto him by Brock Lesnar. The kind of bread and butter pro wrestling arc that was once commonplace until Vince McMahon obviously got sick of gluten or something - that can be the only explanation for why he simply gave up on what used to be such a bedrock.

Heroes don't get their day anymore. Not really, anyway. Other than rule-proving exception Becky Lynch, WWE exists to constantly chase heat to the point that the heat becomes a spectre overlooking anything that's actually nice. And who wants to be top babyface in the company anyway? Roman Reigns and Seth Rollins were mauled in the role, whilst Kingston himself only really dodged the boos because he wasn't ever truly pushed as the organisation's top star.

And imagine that heat if Big E was the one to stop that from happening.

Screwing Kofi either before or after he reclaims his prize would be an act of cruelty and betrayal unlike much WWE are capable of scripting in the modern era. People have deep affection for and belief in the bond between The New Day - a bond that's been temporarily fractured following the long-term injury to Xavier Woods.

E burning all of that to ashes in his own, delayed quest for the prize his best friend won first would play not just to McMahon's kink, but to an audience devastated by the outcome. It hurts to even type and speculate upon, in truth. The visual made real could be one for the ages.
