Title: Undisputed WWE Universal World Championship

Dates of Title Defenses: April 3, 2022 – June 17, 2022

Days Between Defenses: 76

And here we have our current world titleholder, Roman Reigns, who emerged from hiding long enough to successfully defend his new unified world title and set up the next major program before presumably disappearing for a couple weeks.

Reigns has been untouchable as Universal Champion, holding it for more than 650 days. He added the WWE Championship to the mix at WrestleMania 38 when he beat Brock Lesnar in a winner-take-all match to (presumably) unify the two world titles.

And then Roman disappeared.

Reigns had had exactly one televised match since Mania, a six-man tag pitting the Bloodline against RK-Bro and Drew McIntyre at WrestleMania Backlash last month. But the title remained uncontested.

It actually felt like this drought might have stretched much farther, with Roman not booked for Money in the Bank, but then Riddle stepped up to earn a title shot on SmackDown last week, which Reigns emerged victorious from.
