Title: WWE Universal Championship

Dates of Title Defenses: June 14, 2020 – August 23, 2020

Days Between Defenses: 71

Our only entry truly from the pandemic era, we tag in Braun Strowman’s embarrassing run as Universal Champion. This reign was “highlighted” by a cinematic “swamp fight” with Bray Wyatt, but the less said about that, the better.

Braun was a substitute for Roman Reigns at WrestleMania 36, defeating Goldberg for the title. He would defend it at Backlash in a handicap match against the Miz and John Morrison, but then would go 10 weeks without putting the title up for grabs, until he lost it to The Fiend at SummerSlam.

Strowman would quickly become a footnote, as he and Fiend would immediately be overshadowed by a returning Roman Reigns, who defeated both in a triple threat a week later to capture the Universal title, which he has not relinquished since.
