10 Major Stars Who Weren’t At WWE SummerSlam 2019 (Even Though They Should Have Been)

7. The Miz

If we've learned anything from 2019, it's that The Miz is destined to have his own feuds taken away from him by other superstars.

Earlier this year, WWE's most must-see superstar became a footnote in his own WrestleMania-worthy feud with Shane McMahon as, following the 'Showcase of the Immortals' Shane O' Mac drew the ire of Roman Reigns - a program that subsequently swallowed up Miz's genuine reasons for hating Shane. As a result, he would end up awaiting an audience with Mr. McMahon Jr. on SmackDown Live while Shane played with the big boys on Raw.

Now, he's playing second-fiddle all over again as, following his and Shawn Michaels' issues with Dolph Ziggler in recent weeks, he decided to postpone his SummerSlam clash with the 'Show Off' so that Goldberg could face him at the event instead. As a result, The Miz never made an appearance at the marquee event.

It's well-established that the pair's rivalry isn't over, as they're set to collide on Raw, so at the very least, couldn't the 'A-Lister' have shown up in Toronto just to watch Dolph's match with Goldberg from ringside? Perhaps he could have even offered some hilarious commentary after his rival's rant about Goldberg resulted in more Spears?

Now, he gets Goldberg's scraps on Raw and, while that is more than he got from his program with Shane, it just feels like Miz is suffering from a never-ending case of 'always the bridesmaid, never the bride'.
