10 Major Unanswered Questions About AEW

6. Road To...Ruin?

In contrast to Being The Elite's trip off a cliff in the last year, All Elite Wrestling's 'Road To' series hasn't just serviced pay-per-views without a television vehicle to do the same - it's set the template for how to do the television well.

It's tricky to imagine the weekly series carrying the same impact when AEW go weekly on TNT with Dynamite, but integration of the style and substance of the YouTube show would justify its eradication. If the group continue forth with it in its current guise, they must carefully assess who to profile on it.

As it stands, Road To... has remained a vanity project for the topliners. Sammy Guevara, Brandon Cutler and Private Party have featured in patches, but only because of their programmes with the real stars. In this small regard, it's echoed the worst excesses of WWE's reliance on old-timers, particularly with YouTube's risk-free location for experimentation.

The only real exception to that rule has been with possible first Women's Champion Nyla Rose. That division has been the company's weakest overall offering so far, but in planning and execution of Rose's push, AEW have done everything right since a Double Or Nothing four-way didn't do much for her.
