10 Mistakes All Wrestling Fans Make

1. Not Being Fans

This is something we all do. This is something I've done throughout this article. How can you not get excited about the Royal Rumble? I'm riddled with self-loathing, if that helps you.

As much as the January Classic has left an awful taste in the mouth in the past few years, the structure of the match is so bullet-proof that it promises something special every two minutes. More often than not, that something special is actually a Tom Brandi or R-Truth appearance, but the promise of CM Punk's industry-shattering return is but minutes away. The Rumble very rarely gives us anything close to that - but the hope is always there, thirty times over.

The 2017 event promises to be glorious. The cavernous and spectacular stadium setting, the hints at Undertaker's involvement, the as-yet-unpredictable WrestleMania landscape - all point towards a return to the classic events of yore. The return of a top-tier title also makes proceedings slightly more unpredictable; if WWE builds up one star on either brand too strongly, then at least there are two obvious prospective winners instead of one.

As Bill Hicks said, it's just a ride. We should learn to enjoy it more.
