10 Mistakes WWE Has Made With WrestleMania 33

9. The Poster

If we think of PPV posters like movie posters, then it's understandable for the show’s biggest ‘Box Office draws’ to be featured the most heavily on any promotional work. That’s exactly what has happened with WrestleMania 33’s poster – which focuses primarily on Goldberg, John Cena, Brock Lesnar and The Undertaker, shifting more permanent talent further back.

Again, this makes sense from a marketing perspective to some degree, but it also smacks of a poster that sells itself on misinformation, like those Italian 12 Years A Slave posters that minimised Chiwetel Ejiofor’s involvement in favour of huge head-shots of Brad Pitt.

It’s just a bad poster – it doesn't tell us anything about feuds, characters or about the majority of wrestlers’ place on the card. Just look at the placement of Owens, Jericho, Styles and even the WWE Champion Bray Wyatt; they’ve been side-lined in favour of stars who may not even be around the night after WrestleMania, despite generally having more interesting stories to their name.

It’s rather indicative of the match card as a whole – the poster tries to cram as many Superstars on to it as possible, and sacrifices anything resembling a coherent design or identity as a result.
