Dustin Rhodes is a man who is at his absolute best when he is fighting with something to prove. It is a time-tested tradition that has worked time and time again for the veteran. Despite his size and experience, Rhodes proves that underdogs do not need to be diminutive high-flyers to be effective in the role.

Logic dictates Rhodes should have passed his prime by now, but is wrestling better in 2020 than he ever has. Seemingly reinvigorated by stepping away from WWE and joining with his brother in AEW, the two had an absolute classic at Double or Nothing. Since then, Rhodes has been on the periphery of the battle with Chris Jericho's Inner Circle stable. Whether he is standing up, but ultimately falling, to Jericho's heavy Jake Hager or putting his career on the line against Kip Sabian in the TNT Championship tournament, Rhodes consistently tries to find ways to get the crowd invested in his journey.

Dustin is the modern-day equivalent of an aging gunslinger. One day, time will catch up with him, and he will not be able to win the fights that count the most any longer. But he's made it clear that if he goes out, he's going to go down swinging, fighting on his own terms, and that the crowd will be behind him every step of the way.
