10 Most Indestructible Wrestlers Of All Time

5. Kenta Kobashi

Kenta Kobashi was called ‘Iron Man’ long before CM Punk started to use that moniker on the independent scene. Kobashi, who was once described as ‘the perfect wrestler’, has made a career out of dishing out considerable punishment against his opponent and taking more damage than was thought possible for any human being.

Since as far back as the early 1990s, Kobashi has been hit with stiff strikes by the likes of Misawa, Kawada and Stan Hansen; he has been dropped on his head and neck many times, especially by ‘Dr. Death’ Steve Williams; and he has spent over two decades performing moonsaults and other moves that put considerable strain on his knees.

In later years, Kobashi contracted both kidney cancer and later severe nerve damage; but he came back to the ring from both and still kept wrestling as though nothing had happened. Not even undergoing 11 knee surgeries in a 12-month period could keep him down. The man’s whole gimmick was that no matter how much pain he took (which was A LOT), he kept getting up.

The truth is, that was not a gimmick; that was Kenta Kobashi being more of an Iron Man than Robert Downey Jr. can ever hope to be.
