Brodus Clay came into NXT in 2010, as a straight-talking bruiser who cited the real-life hardships of growing up, and his equally real-life work as a bodyguard for Snoop Dogg, as the stepping stones for his career as a wrestler.
His backstory and physical appearance served as ample propulsion for an impressive run.
Then came his Raw debut at the beginning of 2012, where he came out in a red RUN DMC outfit to a chorus of Somebody Call My Momma, and boogied in the centre of the ring with two female dancers. The rest, as they say, is history.
