10 Most Significant Women's Matches In WWE History
1. WWE Women's Championship: Charlotte Vs. Sasha Banks Vs. Becky Lynch (WrestleMania 32)
This is the second women's triple threat match from a WrestleMania to feature on this list. Above being a great match, and arguably the best at that particular event, it marked an important shift in mentality by the WWE. The match was originally for the Divas championship and that hideous, patronising belt that had been around for years.
Hours before the match the company announced that it would now be contested for the new WWE Women's Championship. This new belt, which resembled the men's main championship, only with a different colour scheme, indicated that the WWE now held women in the same regard as the likes of John Cena, Roman Reigns, and Triple H.
Charlotte, Sasha, and Becky didn't disappoint when they were presented with this opportunity, putting on a fast-paced and exciting match, full of spots which had never been seen in a WWE women's match before. It took the WWE a long time to realise this, but the women can be just as good as the men, and sometimes better. This significant moment showed just what anyone can achieve when treated equally.
