10 Most Successful NXT Call-ups
9. Big E
After making his maiden main roster appearance in December 2012, Big E had to wait until WrestleMania XXX for his first official match, but less than eight months later he was celebrating his first singles championship win.
Big E defeated Curtis Axel to win the Intercontinental title on the 18 November showing of Raw, holding the title for 167 days—which, incidentally, was just one day shorter than his reign as NXT Champion.
Despite that singles success, it wasn’t until Big E transitioned to the tag team division that he really found his feet. Teaming with Xavier Woods and Kofi Kingston to form the New Day, Big E won a pair of tag titles in 2015, the second of which resulted in a mammoth 483-day reign as champion.
During those 16 months, the New Day established themselves as one of the most entertaining acts in the company, selling a ridiculous amount of merch from socks to unicorn horns, and even going on to guest host WrestleMania 33.
Unlike many on this list though, he still doesn’t have that elusive world title win to his name…
