Despite having never won a single title in NXT, Bray Wyatt arrived on the main roster with a ton of potential.

After feuding with Kane upon arriving on the scene, the following years saw Wyatt take to the ring with guys like Chris Jericho, CM Punk, Daniel Bryan, and John Cena, while there was also a tag team meeting versus The Undertaker at Survivor Series and teased showdown with Triple H at the Royal Rumble. And there was even room for an in-ring stand-off with The Rock at WrestleMania.

Except, none of it ever really amounted to anything. Until, of course, at the turn of 2016 when he won the SmackDown tag titles, before going on to capture the WWE Championship in February 2017.

That victory came inside the Elimination Chamber, and just a few days later he’d successfully defend the gold against both Cena and AJ Styles in Triple Threat action.

Ultimately though, it proved to be something of a flash in the pan. Since losing the title at WrestleMania 33, Wyatt’s once again found himself languishing in feuds that seemingly promised so much but eventually amounted to very little.
