10 Most Underrated WWE SummerSlam Matches Of All Time

9. Million Dollar Title: Virgil Vs. Ted Dibiase - 1991

Virgil is the subject of a lot of jokes now because once he got out of the wrestling spotlight his life hasn't been great. He's been seen at countless wrestling conventions with barely anybody at his table and there have also been stories of him trying to ask people for money in subway stations as well as other public setting. It's pretty sad to read about it. Back in the late 1980s and early 1990s he was mostly associated as the assistant (or servant) of the "Million Dollar Man" Ted Dibiase. By the summer of 1991 the relationship had disintegrated and Virgil ended up going babyface against the heel Dibiase. The Million Dollar Title was on the line as Dibiase was confident all match long. They did a lot of tricks with the ref getting bumped, with Dibiase's manager Sherri getting kicked out and then a finish that wasn't clean, but it was really fun. Virgil ended up slamming Dibiase's head into the steel turnbuckle that was exposed and the ref was back to his feet. Virgil ended up covering Dibiase to win the Million Dollar Title. It's an underrated match because they told a great story and it's also one of the biggest upsets in wrestling history too.
