10 Much Loved WWE Superstars Who Ended Up Despised

5. Rey Mysterio

Rey Mysterio's fall from grace is a little harsh. He hasn't really done anything wrong, but for whatever reason, fans really turned on him during his final years with WWE. It was possibly due to fatigue of seeing his act, particularly at seeing it watered down so much. By the last few years of his run, he was an absolute shadow of his once glorious self. But that's not really fair to hate on him for. The reason he slowed down so much was because he'd gave so much in his early years. But WWE fans are merciless. They'd booed Rey when they perceived him to be going through the motions. It is also possible that they resented him for spending so much time out injured. It sounds harsh, but that's the way things ended up with the fans. One of Rey's final WWE appearances was the 2014 Royal Rumble. He was booed out of the building, mainly because he wasn't Daniel Bryan. WWE had thought that Rey would be a popular substitute, but the fact is that fans hated him at the end of his career.
