4. Jeff Hardy

Jeff Hardy was on the cusp of something very special when running in WWE main events in 2009. It really felt like we had a new megastar on our hands. And what wasn't to love about him? He had an edgy look and put on daredevil matches that no other person could replicate. But behind the scenes, Jeff's personal life was in turmoil. Part of that most likely stemmed from his ring style. You can't punish your body with falls from ladders. He had his demons. This all came to a head a month after he left WWE in September 2009. One month he'd been in a World Title match at SummerSlam, the next month he was in police cuffs. He was arrested on charges of trafficking in controlled prescription pills and possession of anabolic steroids. It turned out that he had stashes of drugs in his house and he later admitted guilt. WWE fans turned on him for all of that. The fan favourite was now viewed as just a drug addled loser.
