10 New Directions For AEW After Worlds End 2023
7. Andrade El Idolo Leaving AEW
Tony Khan all-but-confirmed that Andrade El Idolo's AEW run came to an end on Saturday's pay-per-view. The boss put Andrade over huge during the press conference, and thanked him for all of his efforts. This came after El Idolo stared at the lights for Miro on the main card in New York.
The rumour mill is teasing a WWE comeback, but nothing is certain just yet. There's also no sense in beating around the bush: Andrade's AEW tenure has been a bit disappointing. He's had several cracking matches, sure, but significant storylines have been thin on the ground.
It's probably for the best if he moves on.
At least El Idolo got to go out on a high. His match vs. Miro was another hoss battle both can be proud of, and Triple H must know Andrade (someone he was very big on during the peak-era NXT days) can contribute to his product in 2024.
