10 Next Booking Steps For Heel Roman Reigns In WWE
9. Turning On The Fans

We've discussed how Reigns had a unique ability to come off as unlikable even when he was shoehorned into the 'fan-favorite' face role. Due to that, it's important that he quickly address the matter head-on so that there's no confusion whatsoever as to who he is becoming. The easiest way to do that is to turn on the fans.
This one would write itself. All Reigns would have to do is unload on the WWE Universe about the horrible way they treated him over the past couple of years, citing how nothing he ever did was good enough for them. He could then follow that up by telling them that he's through with trying to get people to like him and that, from here on out, he does what he wants... and he's going to start by taking down their beloved Fiend.
Unfortunately, this would have worked so much better in front of a live audience - who knows, it might have received a ton of cheers because we've all wanted it for so long - but that doesn't change the fact that when it does happen, it will officially allow Roman to be free. No longer burdened by being the unpopular babyface that never was, he'd now receive either boos for being a great heel or cheers for being a great heel - both of which would undoubtedly be well-earned.
This could be a fresh start for him and the only way to make it a successful one is to acknowledge what didn't work the first time around.
