10 Positives Heading Into WWE SummerSlam 2016

8. Dean Ambrose Vs. Dolph Ziggler

This may not be the most popular opinion, as I know a lot of people are none too happy about Dolph Ziggler being given a title shot in this day and age. But I genuinely think that the way they’ve handled this storyline has been a huge positive heading into SummerSlam.

The writers have acknowledged the scepticism surrounding Ziggler, with Ambrose suggesting that he isn't quite as good as he touts himself to be. There’s been talk of glass ceilings, of being overlooked by management, and it’s all helped to create a more compelling story.

Plus, it’s a story that’s evolved along the way. At first it was a case of one good guy who makes things look pretty, versus another good guy who simply gets the job done—a relatable premise and a refreshing take on a face vs. face feud.

But since then, it’s developed into a story about Ziggler’s redemption. He’s now got to prove to the world that he really is “that damn good” while Ambrose needs to back up all the talk he’s delivered about being the better man come SummerSlam.

Personally I think that kind of backstory is far better than the one being offered in Raw’s title picture. And I think credit is due for the way they’ve turned Ziggler’s character around and created a compelling feud from out of nowhere.
