10 Precise WWE Moments Wrestlers Retired Iconic Moves
9. Brock Lesnar - Shooting Star Press
Last Seen: vs. Kurt Angle - WrestleMania XIX, 2003
Brock Lesnar was never famed for his Shooting Star Press. Since debuting on the main roster he had primarily finished his matches with the F-5, and had rarely, if ever, so much as ventured up to the top rope.
But he could do the Shooting Star Press. He'd done it during his training, and even used it in developmental to help grab the attention of his coaches and peers. It wasn't befitting of his character, but having it in his back pocket was a game-changer, a potential show-stopper... an undeniable WrestleMania moment in the making.
Legend has it he planned to end his main event vs. Kurt Angle with the iconic move, ensuring that after 20 minutes of incredible wrestling the match would go down in history. He was warned to think twice by a number of people backstage, but he was committed to it.
We all know what happened. Angle was too far away, Lesnar was too heavy-legged, and he shorted the spot before coming down hard on his head. This was 17 years ago, and he's never once attempted it again.
